Overview
Under a 2021 California law, public school students can take up to five days of excused absences for mental health.
In collaboration with SafeSpace, CEC has created information and resources for students, families, and school staff/administrators about the importance of occasional mental health days as a way to reduce chronic absenteeism caused by prolonged mental health issues that can stand in the way of academic performance and wellness.
