Overview

In California, public school students may take excused absences for the purpose of supporting their mental health. Unfortunately, many students, families and staff are unaware of this mandate.

In collaboration with SafeSpace, CEC has created information and resources for students, families, and school staff about the importance of occasional mental health days as a way to reduce chronic absenteeism that can stand in the way of academic performance and wellness.

CEC also worked with Unitedly to translate the parent and student info sheets into Chinese.
